Daily Recon
Overview
The goal of this report is to identify all dollars received, for the date being reported out on, by payment source (i.e., Lockbox, EFT, Pension, Enrolment, Third Party, Credit Card Automated Online Payments, etc.). For each payment source, the report identifies the volume/number of transactions and the total dollars received. Volume represents the number of payment records received. For Example, if we received 1,000 checks from Lockbox, we would expect the volume to be 1,000, and the Lockbox total to be the total dollar amount of those 1,000 checks. All payments are included in this report - even those waiting to be applied to a member’s account (i.e., payments sitting in suspense).
Billing - Uses the daily reconciliation report to audit all bank/payment activity within the billing system. Each payment is counted, and dollars are accumulated by date and payment source. It provides the snapshot of all payments received for the day and the method of how they were received (check, EFT, etc.).
Finance - This information is needed to reconcile the daily bank deposit by source – ensures what the bank received for lockbox, EFT, FRS – everything is there to make sure things match for the day.
