Installation overview
To install DIH manually, complete the following general tasks. If you wish to install using a script, see Install using a dih-installer.
- Unzip
ria-dih-<version>.zip. - Make the shell scripts executable.
- Optional. Create the database schema.
- Grant database permissions.
- Configure DIH tool.
- Optional. Set up email server for notifications.
Unzip ria-dih-<version>.zip
The zip file contains individual directories and must be unzipped to a new empty directory. The recommended directory name is ria-dih, but you can name it anything.
For example, if the zip file was copied to /var/tmp directory, then the command to unzip DIH version 3.0.0 is as follows:
unzip /var/tmp/ria-dih-3.0.0.zip -d /opt/dih/dev/ria-dih
This example will create a new directory /opt/dih/dev/ria-dih and unzip the contents of ria-dih-3.0.0.zip into it.
Make the shell scripts executable
The bin directory contains bash scripts that must be executable. The chmod-sh script, included in the DIH package, sets the executable attribute on all appropriate bash scripts. To use this script, follow these steps.
- Change directory to
ria-dih/bin.
cd bin
- Add the executable attribute.
chmod +x chmod-sh
+x will make the files executable for all users. If you wish to grant this privelge to specific users, use u+x for the owning user or ug+x for user and group.
Verify that the scripts are executable by running the lps script and checking for any errors during execution.
./lps
