Group

Overview

The group section allows you to consolidate multiple tables into a group within the data migration process. You can add or remove specific tables from the group as needed, during the migration process.

FieldDescription
SequenceDisplays the sequence number of the group.
Group NameName of the table group.
DescriptionDescription of the table group.
ActionDisplays that allows you to remove the group.

Add a group

To create a group, follow these steps:

  1. Click Create New.

  2. Enter a valid name in the Group Name field.

  3. Enter the description in the Description field.

  4. Select an option in the Reverse Table Sequence dropdown list.

  5. Optional. Add tables to the group. For more information, See Tables.

  6. Optional. Add action to the group. For more information, See Actions.

  7. Click Save.

Tables

The Tables tab lists the tables associated with the created group.

FieldDescription
SequenceDisplays the sequence number of the table.
Table NameThe name of the table included in the group.
Table SequenceDisplays the order in which the tables will be processed.
DisabledCheckbox to disable a table from processing.
ActionDisplays that allows you to remove the parameter.

Add a table

To add a table, select them from the Add tables to this Group dropdown.

Actions

The Actions tab is where you can add an action sequence for tables within the group.

Action

Specifies the operation to perform. The following are the possible values:

  • MIGRATE
  • DELETE
Action SequenceSpecifies the order which the mappings will be executed.
Bucket CountDefines the number of data buckets used for parallel processing.
Parallel CountSets the number of parallel processes running simultaneously.
Target Context IDSpecifies the target database context for the selected action.
Target SchemaSpecifies the schema where the selected action is applied.
Source Context IDIdentifies the source database context for reference.
Source SchemaSpecifies the schema which contains the source data.
SQL ConditionApplies SQL filter applied during the execution.
Insert HintSpecifies optimization hints for insert operations.
Select HintSpecifies optimization hints for select operations.
Delete HintSpecifies optimization hints for delete operations.
ActionDisplays that allows you to remove the action.

Add an action

  1. Click Add button to add an action.

  2. Select an Action in the dropdown list.

  3. Enter valid values in the following fields:

    • Action Sequence
    • Bucket Count
    • Parallel Count
    • Target Context ID
    • Target Schema
    • Source Context ID
    • Source Schema
    • SQL Condition
    • Insert Hint
    • Select Hint
    • Delete Hint

  4. Click Save.

Modify a group

The Group module allows you to update the details of an existing group. To make modifications, select the group from the list and change the values in the fields as needed.

Delete a group

To delete a group, follow these steps:

  1. Click of the group you wish to delete.

  2. Click Save. Once saved, the role in the red highlight will be deleted.
